Acknowledgments and Accolades (2)

Acknowledgments and Accolades is a new weekly post in which I share my favorite quotes from blurbs or acknowledgments for the week. I have an unusual obsession with the way large emotions like gratitude and admiration can be expressed in such succinct prose, so I always read the blurbs and acknowledgments sections first.

Here are my favorite finds for this week:

The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

Wow. I sobbed my eyes out and then laughed through the tears. I have not fallen in love with a story and its characters like this in a long time. Stunning, heartbreaking, and hilarious. A story that shakes the Earth.” –An Na

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han

If I could live inside this amazing book, I would. I would inhale the ocean air and soak up the sun, and I would hang out all day with kind-wonderful-funny-awkward Belly and her two known-’em forever buds, Jeremiah and Conrad…”–Lauren Myracle

The Life of Glass by Jillian Cantor

The hardest tests of adolescence don’t come in English, algrebra, or biology. They come in those defining moments when we are asked to know ourselves and to follow our true hearts…”–Beth Kephart
