Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon (2)

I’m participating in my second Readathon today. I had so much fun last time and I’m excited to be doing it again. I will be updating this post throughout the day to keep track of my progress. If you are participating in the Readathon, please leave a link to your site so I can keep track of how you’re doing, too. Hope your day is filled with great books and delicious snacks!

8:00 AM-9:00 AM

Book: An Off Year by Claire Zulkey (Page 60)

Music: See Through Secrets by Jimmy Robbins

Location: On my too small couch with too big puppy on top of me (it was actually kind of adorable, though)

9:00 AM-11:00 AM

Book: An Off Year by Claire Zulkey (Finished; 213 pages)

Music: Smoke & Mirrors by Lifehouse

Locations: Kitchen for smoothie making and social time; couch for more reading; stairway for reading while in closer proximity to door that allows puppy in and out and in and out and….

Consumption of delicious edible goods: Fruit smoothie in massive quantities because nothing fuels reading quite like frozen fruity, yogurty goodness

11:00 AM-12:30 PM

Book: The Secret Year by Jennifer Hubbard (Page 86)

Music: Shine and Starlight by Loni Rose

Locations: Kitchen for some delightful dish washing; couch for more reading and puppy snuggling

12:30 PM-1:30 PM

Book: The Secret Year by Jennifer Hubbard (Finished; 192 pages)

Music: This Machine Pwns N00bs and So Jokes by Hank Green

Locations: More couch hibernation plus desk for some blog commenting

1:30 PM-4:00 PM

Book: The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams (Page 60)

Music: Talking Pictures by Tyler Kyte

Locations: Kitchen for cooking; outside for puppy playing and mail fetching; couch for reading, eating, and tv watching

Lunchy Goodness: Grilled cheese (half with pesto, half with cream cheese, all delicious) and tomato parmesan soup; a delightful episode of Veronica Mars on in the background while I ate and browsed twitter/blogs

4:00 PM-5:30 PM

Book: The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams (Finished; 213 pages)

Music: Matt Nathanson

Locations: Outside for puppy time and couch for reading

Liquid fuel: Coffee cup number one (I didn’t want to overdo it this morning….the major caffeination will come later

5:30 PM-9:30 PM

I’ve read a tiny bit of A Brief Chapter in My Impossible Life by Dana Reinhardt. Mostly I have taken a ginormous break to eat, watch some tv, go through my room and find some stuff to get rid of before my next move, etc. My motivation has taken a major nosedive. I think I must have fewer friends participating in this readathon than the last one because it feels way less social. Gonna go read a bit more and see if I can get my head back in the game. Otherwise I’ll probably just call it an early night and be glad I got a few more books off the shelves.

9:30 PM-10:45 PM

Book: A Brief Chapter in my Impossible Life by Dana Reinhardt (Finished; 228 pages)

Music: None

Locations: On my bed because the puppy took over the couch

Books Finished

An Off Year by Claire Zulkey

The Secret Year by Jennifer Hubbard

The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams

  • Good Luck Mel!! I’ll be curious to see how many books you finished in 24 hrs. You’re one of the fastest readers I know!

  • Feels a lot less social to me, too! 🙁 Not sure what it is. Glad you could get books to get rid of though 🙂
