Maggie Stiefvater on Parents in YA Books

People (and by people, I mostly mean adults) often complain about characterization of parents in YA books. Maggie Stiefvater wrote a great blog post about why she chooses to write about “bad parents.” This post is well worth reading, and interesting to me in particular, as I’m planning to start reading some nonfiction books about young adult literature. I’m sure that the literary criticism texts will have much to say about the portrayal of parents. Check out Stiefvater’s blog at: Maggie’s Inflammatory Blog Post About Parents in Books.
