Programming You for BEA Face Recognition

I can’t believe I’m leaving for BEA/BBC in one week. After planning this for basically the last year, I’m incredibly excited and nervous and overwhelmed. I am looking forward to meeting so many of the bloggers and authors that I have talked to over the past few months as well as meetings lots of new people.

If you are going, I’m sure you have already posted (or are planning to post) your picture so that we can all scan it into our brains and then attempt name recognition when we see you. I’m not going to lie, I’ll probably fail at that, so please feel free to remind me of your name/blog name/general blog layout characteristics. For those of you who are good at that face recognition thing, here is my face:

If you see me, please come say hi! (Even if you don’t remember who I am but just think, “Oh, that person looks kind of familiar, perhaps I saw her face on the Internet.”) I will probably be wandering around overwhelmed and in a daze as though I am high on books.

Also, if you will be there and want to meet up with me, let me know and we can exchange contact info. If you know of any exciting panels or parties or other events going on that week that you think I should know about, please feel free to share that info in the comments as well.

  • That’s why I do so many vlogs and post pics of myself all up on twitter, so that people will recognize me, lol. Anyways I will totally say hey to you and introduce you to people if you want at BEA, I know I’ll recognize lots of people from last year.

    • Thanks April!

(You are wise. Vlogs and repetitive pictures do help.)

    • I’m pretty sure I’ll recognize you and Tara, too, particularly since I get to see you in a small group setting first 🙂

  • Hi, I’m a new follower. I’m so jealous you’re going to BEA. I’m still a newbie to book blogging but I’m hoping for next year! This time around I plan to participate from my couch (Armchair BEA). Have a GREAT time! I look forward to your BEA tweets! ~ Jen @ A Book and a Latte (@bookandlatte)

    • I was right where you are at this time last year. I’d JUST started blogging and was super jealous of everybody going. I’m sure Armchair BEA will be a good experience, too, and the year will go by so fast! When you go next year you’ll have lots more blogging friends to meet up with 🙂

  • Good idea, but I’ll probably be checking out everyone’s name badge as I’m terrible with faces! There are so many panels I want to go to, but the only must-sees for me are the Editor’s Book Buzz panels. Can’t wait to see what’s gotten the pro’s excited this year!
