Reasons My Birthday Was Awesome: Part Two

My friend Christie, who was my roommate in college for two years, came down from Vermont to visit for my birthday weekend. She had promised to do this about a year ago when I was still living in CA, so I think it was nice of me to at least make the trip a little easier for her.

The weekend was filled with lots of puppy playtime and cuddling, way too much delicious food, book buying, and tv watching. I like having friends who can enjoy low key activities and don’t think I’m lame for wanting to spend my birthday doing mellow, relaxing things. This was by far the best birthday I’ve had in years. It doesn’t take a lot to make me happy, just good friends, good food, and a lack of stomach flu, blizzards, and final exams. Thankfully this year I got all of those things!

I also got some birthday and Hanukkah money, which went straight to book shopping, so my IMMs are going to be pretty jam packed for the next couple weeks. I have no idea when I’ll get to catch up on reading all those books, but I’m excited to have them in my room instead of on a list on the Internet. They’re much prettier that way.

Christie and Wiki got along well

We went out for Thai food and I devoured this super delicious curry

Then I demolished this brownie sundae

After a few hours of book buying and tv watching, I ate some enchilada pizza and a chocolate cake that my housemate made for me. I shouldn’t have to eat again until my next birthday, right?

  • I need that sundae, enchilada pizza, and cake right NOW! stat! 😛 Glad you had a great birthday! and that was nice of your friend to come down & visit. I enjoy low key stuff too. Every once in awhile it’s fun to be crazy, but you should do what makes you happy the most on your day!

  • It sounds like you had a blast! I agree that books look WAY better sitting on my shelf instead of wherever else they are 🙂

Also, when you get a chance, could you send some snow to Texas?

I’m glad your birthday went so well 🙂

    • I’ll try to send some out that way, but you’ll have to share with Ginger.

  • I do very much appreciate you moving across the country to simplify my travel arrangements – I feel so loved! Haha. I had such a fantastic weekend, and I’m glad you did too. See you soon! <3
