Waiting on Wednesday: Pieces of Us

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Summary from Amazon:

Every summer, four young adults from two families—sisters Katie and Julie and brothers Alex and Kyle—reunite in the Catskills. Staying with their grandparents, picking berries, using their Russian names, falling in love . . . it’s an idyllic break from school, parents, and other troubles. By keeping their home lives secret and separate from the blissful summers, Katie and Alex hope to preserve their fragile romance.

When the couple risks pursuing a real, year round relationship, disaster strikes. A damning video of Katie surfaces, stirring up shame, self-hatred, and mistrust that sends all four teenagers to a precarious breaking point.

Pieces of Us by Margie Gelbwasser will be released by Flux on March 8, 2012.

This cover drew me in, and the summary sounds a bit like Invincible Summer meets Internet scandal. I am very intrigued by the idea of people who use summer as a sort of escapism, but then have to fit their summer friends/relationships into their real lives. And clearly don’t do that so successfully.

What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

  • I don’t think I’ve heard of this one, and I do love the cover too. It looks kind of sad and lonely, at least that’s how it makes me feel. Will be adding this one to my list for sure!=D
