Weimaraner Wednesday (2)

Happy Weimaraner Wednesday! Before I get to the pictures, I wanted to let you know that Catherine Ryan Hyde will be hosting a similar feature on her blog. However, she will be featuring YOUR pets and their stories. Check out her More Puppy blog post to find out how you can get your puppy or kitty or bunny or other fuzzy friend featured on her site. There are also a lot of adorable pictures of her dog Ella.

  • I might come and steal your pup.

And OMG! Your dog has a Tooting Annie! You might think it’s just a large hedgehog type dog toy, but that toy always reminded us of our dog Annie and because it makes a grunting/toot type noise rather than a squeak we named it Tooting Annie. Poor thing, Annie wasn’t a big tooter when she was alive, she also wasn’t as rolly polly as we made her out to be in our imagination (ie: tooting hedgehog).

I’m going to stop now because I’m just embarrassing myself. 😉

    • That’s such a cute story! It totally does make a tooting noise 🙂

That hedgehog originally had a little santa hat on it. I got it on clearance after Christmas. Unfortunately, the santa hat got torn off very quickly, so now it’s just a plain ‘ol tootin’ hedgehog.

  • Oh my gosh! What a beautiful girl! Thank you for sharing her with us. My dad’s big old black lab had a pink elephant he took everywhere with him. And yes there were sometimes the mad scrambles to find the elephant–can’t go without Mike’s elephant, lol. So, thanks for the memories, too:)

    • Loving the doggy stories 🙂 Pink elephant would be adorable…

Wiki has a huge bin of toys. It’s kind of ridiculous. I can’t resist when I see them on sale or come across an especially adorable one. She tends to rotate which ones she’s particularly interested in playing with. There used to be a monkey pillow that was her favorite, but it is no longer with us…poor little monkey pillow.

  • I love the pix. We have a blue weim named Webby and they are the sweetest dogs ever. Does your dog like to cuddle up in bed and take over too?

    • I’d love to see pics of Webby!

Wiki is definitely a major bed cuddler. She’s nice enough to give me enough space to sleep, sometimes at least, but I often wake up clinging to the side and wondering where all my blankets went. She’s a weird weim, though, in that she does not like to go under the covers…just stays happily on top.

  • Awww, she is a cutie. Can not wait for her and her mommy to come home for the summer. Her Grandma and Grandpa miss their grand baby. BTW, The Jodi Picoult and Kristan Hannah books are both very good (figured since this is a book blog that I should mention those as well).

  • Oh my goodness! Wiki is so adorable 🙂 I love the sad, pathetic look she perfects so well – haha! Daisy does the EXACT same one!

  • Aaah! Cutest puppy pics ever! I love the turkey legs one, and sleeping with her head on her toy. Ella has two baskets of toys, one upstairs in the studio and one downstairs. I’m always a little shy to admit how many toys she has, but you made me feel much better. She’s funny with her toys. She seems to know, before she even gets to the basket, what she’s looking for. She’ll paw around in there until suddenly, “Aha! That’s what I was looking for!” She also has names for each toy and she will get me the one I ask for (usually, unless she’s distracted or just not in a mood to care).

    • Wiki does exactly the same thing with her basket: She digs until she finds what she is looking for. She will refuse other toys if you offer them to her. The girl knows what she wants.

She knows the names of a few of her toys, but not all of them. It’s something we’re working on. She knows “ball” all too well. If you say that word, you better be prepared to play. I’m fairly sure she has also learned how to recognize when I spell it now, too.

  • Oh my gosh I want to steal Wiki. SO CUTE. Ahaha in the first she looks so heartbroken that you are taking a picture and not playing. And I love the way she’s lying in that middle one– my brother’s blue tick coon hound sits the same way. It always cracks me up. Aw. Wiki <333

    • There will be no puppy stealing. Puppysitting, on the other hand, would be very welcome sometimes.

I love your brother’s hound. Such gorgeous markings!!
